Since I was about 15 years old in 1995, I've been slowly working my way north and south from Maryland along the Appalachian Trail. These trips have been mainly 1 or 2 day trips over a weekend, starting when I was a Boy Scout, and then with friends and on my own.
So far, I've covered approximately 419 miles of the 2,190 total miles of the trail. This distance covers the trail from the trail crossing at Route 183 in Pennsylvania and the James River Foot Bridge in Virginia. The map below shows our parking locations and camping spots for the past 10 years or so.
