Top-of-the-Stove Potatoes Au Gratin

Ingredients

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 4 cups diced raw potatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil water and salt in sauscepan
  2. Add potatoes and onions to boiling water.  Cover and boil for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove lid and simmer until water is almost completely evaporated, stirring frequently.
  4. Add milkcheese, and pepper.
  5. Heat thoroughly and serve.
